After a brief (and extremely rare) lapse in concentration from Tiger Woods that saw him surrender the lead in PGA Championship and the eventual title to the first ever Asian born winner of a major golf title, Y. E. Yang of Korea.

What was the significance of Tigers first loss ever after leading into the final round of a major?
Well, for starters, punters took an absolute bath after jumping on the Tiger at extremely short golf betting odds leading into the last round knowing that he had never, ever lost from a leading position.
Secondly, it meant that Tiger Woods wasn’t invincible and that punters looking to bet on him in the British Open or any of the other majors might get a bit of value in their betting odds at such sites like Sportingbet.com.au
Anyone who doubted the world’s greatest ever golfer (and now sports first ever billionaire thanks to appearance fees, match earnings, investments and endorsements) was sorely mistaken id his Presidents Cup form is anything to go by.
Tiger was back to his impeccable best for the Presidents Cup (for which the US were red hot favourites in betting odds at sportingbet to beat the Aussies) and became one of just a handful of players to win all five of his matches over the tournament.
Tiger will undoubtedly be back to very short betting odds to win next year’s British Open and all the other majors as the golfing phenomenon goes from strength to strength.

The US Tour Golf 2009 resulted in a win by Phil Mickelson! The result came as a surprise to a lot of people, probably even Mickelson. The betting odds were favouring the overnight leader, Kenny Perry and the legend, Tiger Woods. Perry was four shots ahead of Mickelson going into the last round and the golf betting odds for Mickelson were way out!

Naturally, Woods was a favourite too. However, Mickelson had an AMAZING final round – five under par! That gave Mickelson the win. He pocketed about $1.35 million. Good on him! If you took advantage of the golf betting odds and had a bet on Mickelson to win the US Tour Golf 2009, you would have made yourself a pretty penny. Probably not $1.35 million, but a nice little bit of pocket money. Dont miss out next time, check sportingbet.com.au to bet!
The left handed player has always been a good player, but winning the US Tour Golf 2009 has helped cement this into the heads of many players and golf fans alike. The betting odds for Mickelson will probably tighten up for the next few events that he will play in now, due to his success at the US Tour Golf 2009. Keep an eye out for the betting odds on the next couple of events at sportingbet.com. I reckon that they will be a lot tighter.
I would love to know how they come up with the betting odds for golf and other individual sports, because anything could happen – different conditions, different courses and of course different players. I think I’ll leave it to the experts!

Tiger Woods has just become the world’s first sporting billionaire after a recent return to form in the world on men’s professional golf and his recent form is an accurate reflection of how golf betting odds should go over the next few golf masters tournaments.

At one point during the year, golf betting odds were so slim surrounding Tiger Woods that many online providers of golf betting odds removed Tiger Woods from betting odds markets in order to make punting on the golf masters more lucrative.
However, one slip up during the year had golf betting odds back in order on sites such as Sportingbet.com.au when Tiger let a four shot lead slip and stumbled into second place – putting punters right out of pocket and Tiger out of favour with punters around the world.
Betting odds have improved and punters have jumped back on the world’s greatest golfer (and potentially the world’s greatest sportsman) and betting odds for next year’s US Golf Masters should have the champion at very firm odds to take the title – in fact it will be truly surprising should betting odds on any of the PGA Majors have Tiger Woods listed as anything but red hot favourite.
Betting odds are not restricted to just the four Majors as punters can get golf betting odds on leading money earners, Ryder Cup, President’s Cup and hundreds of other men’s and ladies events from around the world.
To check the latest betting odds from around the golfing world check out any one of the major online betting companies operating around Australia such as Sportingbet.com
